I vowed to God that if I was going to walk with Him, I would do it honestly. No spiritual cosplay. No polished testimony that skips the bruises. My soul craves Jesus Christ—God, truth, the Holy Spirit, holiness, alignment. My flesh craves sin, comfort, control, and selfish want. I am stuck with both. And pretending otherwise is foolishness. Too often, especially within Christianity, we act as though accepting God’s love magically dissolves the war between soul and flesh. It doesn’t. If anything, the struggle intensifies once truth is known—because now the battle is conscious. We try to muscle through it alone, white-knuckling righteousness, mistaking control for faith. But soul and flesh, left to themselves, will always fail. Nothing changes until surrender becomes daily, continual, and complete. This series exists because denial helps no one—but truth, fully yielded to God, heals what control never could.

Anthem of the Unbroken

There’s a ballroom inside the mind where creation and chaos dance beneath velvet light — where memory wears perfume and madness dresses up like art. Velvet Reflections was born in that space between confession and performance, between who I am and who I am striving to be. Every artist knows that quiet war: the pull between exposure and disguise, faith and doubt, surrender and control. This work began as a whisper — an exploration of what it means to create while carrying both wonder and fracture. Here’s what lives behind the curtain.

There comes a moment when the mirror stops reflecting and starts revealing — the face, the fight, the faith beneath it all. These words were born in that moment: between silence and surrender, where grace wrestles with flesh and truth stares back unblinking. What follows isn’t self-pity or confession; it’s a prayer in motion. An unpolished acceptance. A glimpse of a woman learning to meet herself — wholly, honestly, and through the eyes of God who never stopped calling her worthy.
